Shade Stone Farm's maple syrup is a sustainably produced sweetener now made entirely on-farm. The sap is collected from Shade Stone Farm's organically managed maple trees using an efficient tubing system designed and maintained by retired ag teacher Mr. Steve Kline. We recently completed construction (and PA Dept of Ag inspection) of our Sugar Shack to process and bottle the syrup. Almost all of the energy required to produce our flavorful syrup comes from local renewable resources including solar and biomass. See our blog post for pictures!
